Don’t expect a fashion show from Opening Ceremony’s Humberto Leon and Carol Lim this September. Instead, prepare yourselves for a one-act play, which, directed by friend-of-the-brand Spike Jonze and written by Jonah Hill (no, he’s not going to act—womp womp), will serve as the brand’s Spring ’15 presentation. “Spike and I were chatting about what it would be like if he were to ever work on a show with us, and the idea of a scripted play came up,” Leon, who last season presented the Fall ’14 collection with the help of a giant chocolate waterfall, told Style.com. “We dreamed up all these ideas of a theatrical performance for a fashion show, and now that inspiration is coming to life.” At the end of the day, the best fashion shows are just as (if not more) entertaining, moving, shocking, etc. as a theater production, so it sounds like the OC crew might be on to something. Though I’m definitely curious if fashion and theater critics will be receiving front-row invites.
